Letter: Fed up with partisan posturing

I wish to publicly thank Commissioner Marc Boldt for his commitment to truly represent all the people of Clark County. I do not always agree with him — I am, after all, a Democrat — but I have come to have tremendous respect for him and his thoughtful approach to governance.

As a voter for more than 40 years, I have voted in the past for a few Republican candidates. In these times when the party has been corrupted by special interests, I have given up any thought of voting for a Republican. Boldt is, however, the kind of man who could get my vote, and that of many Democrats. Many citizens are fed up with partisan politics that postures rather than works to solve the real and potentially disastrous problems facing Americans; a 12 percent approval rating for the U.S. Congress is proof of the serious extent our dissatisfaction.

Kudos to Boldt for breaking the mold.
