Hazel Dell Metro. Web site: This league serves players ages 13-15 who live in Vancouver west of I-205, and covers all of Clark County north of Padden Parkway. In addition to Babe Ruth divisions for ages 13, and 14-15, HDM offers baseball on 70-foot basepaths for age 12.

KWRL Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth Baseball league for Kalama, Woodland, Ridgefield, La Center and much of northern Clark County. Three-year-old league. Register online at

KWRL boundaries cover the Ridgefield, La Center, Woodland, Yacolt and Amboy school districts. Legends Wood Bat Baseball League is a Sunday afternoon Portland league for players 40 and older. Players 35-39 can play, though they may not pitch. Coed Youth Flag Football League — The Coed Flag Football League is currently open for registration. Divisions for ages 6-8 and ages 9-11. Teams are being formed in Camas and Washougal and games will be played against other teams in Clark County. King’s Way Lacrosse — For boys who live in Clark County. Do not need to attend King’s Way Christian schools. Competitive high school boys teams play in the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association in the spring. Youth teams (grades 5-8) play in Portland-area leagues. Southwest Washington Youth Lacrosse Club — Open to anyone enterting grades 3-10. Beginners welcome. Southwest Washington Lacrosse offers financial aid, and can loan free lacrosse gear to those who need it. Registration is also open for a new girls lacrosse program that begins in the spring. Little League’s main season runs March-July, including All-Star play. Some leagues offer fall ball programs. Little League is an all-volunteer program. In Washington, it is organized into 11 districts, two of which serve The Columbian’s readership area. Registration for the main spring-summer season is held in January and February for most leagues, and for 2012 is listed below for some leagues. Boundary maps for the leagues in those districts are available on the district websites (listed below).

Here is some basic Little League information:

— Most leagues offer baseball and softball. For 2012, baseball is for players ages 5-18 are based on the player’s age on April 30, 2012. Softball for girls ages 5-18 are based on player’s age on Dec. 31, 2011.

— Practices begin in March and the Little League season runs through mid-June, followed by all-star competition.

— Little League is run by volunteers.

— Challenger Division. Battle Ground/Highlands, Columbia, and LaCamas are leagues that offer a Challenger Division for disabled players ages 20 and younger who live in southwest Washington.

Directions: From Highway 14 take the Columbia House exit to Columbia Shores Boulevard south, then turn east on Columbia Way to the parking area just west of Marine Park Way. Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. — Lacamas Park 5-mile Run. This run follows the mostly unpaved trails around Round Lake. A challenging trail run! (Restrooms available. Directions: From 164th Avenue., go east on Southeast First Street (First becomes Lake Road on the south side of Lacamas Lake). Go about 5 miles to Everett Street in Camas. Then go north on Everett for 100 yards to the main parking lot for Lacamas Lake Parkon the east side of the road. There is an overflow parking area on Northeastg 35th Avenue, just north of the park.
