LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico State basketball coach Marvin Menzies has withdrawn his name as a candidate for the job at Colorado State.

Athletics Director Dr. McKinley Boston said Tuesday that he was “pleased to hear” about Menzies’ decision and planned to sit down with him “to review his current contract.” He didn’t elaborate or give a timetable for the meeting.

The Aggies were 26-10 this season. They won the Western Athletic Conference tournament title and a NCAA tournament berth, but lost to Indiana 79-66 in the second round of the South Regional on March 15.

Menzies has an 86-51 record in four seasons at New Mexico State. He’s the second coach in the school’s history to win 60 games in his first three seasons.
