Swiss group targets FIFA with Blatter dance spoof

GENEVA (AP) — A Swiss aid organization has urged FIFA to speak out against human rights abuses in countries that host the World Cup.

The trade union-backed Solidar Suisse is making its point with an online video showing an actor looking like FIFA President Sepp Blatter dancing to the tune of a popular Brazilian pop song.

Brazil hosts the tournament in 2014.

In the video, the actor who looks like Blatter pirouettes across a stage to the refrain of “money, money, money.”

Solidar Suisse spokesman Christian Engeli says despite the lighthearted tone it is an attempt to draw attention to serious abuses such as housing eviction, poor labor conditions for workers making merchandise, and unfair tax exemptions for FIFA and World Cup sponsors.

FIFA declined comment on the video on Tuesday.
