CAMAS/WASHOUGAL — East County Fire & Rescue still has space for a few more students in its 20-hour Community Emergency Response Team course.
The classes are 7 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays, April 13 and 20, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, April 14 and 21 at East County Fire & Rescue Station No. 91, 600 N.E. 267th Ave., Camas. The $25 cost covers training supplies and materials. Class size is limited, and payment is due at time of registration. The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness and offers training in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace after a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available.
