Dmitriy A. Ivanov, 25, of Vancouver was arrested for suspicion of DUI after a Saturday night accident on state Highway 14 just west of Lieser Road, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The crash happened at 8:28 p.m.

The patrol said Ivanov was eastbound in the inside lane driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee when it moved to the right lane and collided with a 2005 Mazda Miata driven by David Kutsar, 19 of Vancouver, forcing Kutsar’s car to the right.

The patrol said Kutsar overcorrected to the left, crossed the lanes and struck a Jersey barrier. Ivanov’s Jeep also hit the barrier, the report said.

Both vehicles then crossed the lanes to the right and came to rest off the outside lanes of the highway, the report indicated.

Kutsar and his passenger, Maria I. Leontyuk, 17, of Portland were not hurt, the report said.

Ivanov was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
