NEW YORK (AP) — A minor league pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals and a minor league infielder for the Miami Marlins have been given 50-game suspensions after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

The commissioner’s office imposed the penalties Thursday under the minor league drug program.

Jaime Ortiz of the Marlins was with Double-A Jacksonville. He was suspended after a positive test for Stanozolol.

Jose Pasen of the Cardinals was penalized after testing positive for metabolites of Nandrolone. He was on the roster of Class A Batavia.

There have been 34 suspensions this year under the minor league drug program.
