Letter: Shared restroom is traditional

The Columbian
Published: April 26, 2012, 5:00pm

The April 16 letter to the editor, “Bathroom campaign eyes quality,” stirred the opine of my 86-year-old mind.

The first 16 years of my life were spent on occasion in a unisex outhouse.

Unfortunately, the school of hard knocks did not grant degrees on the subject nor did the government grant student loans to achieve sexual identity. I did observe that the smell was gender neutral and an open forum of fresh air was mighty refreshing.
