EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A Springfield man who confessed guilt to child pornography charges has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
The government and the father of a 12-year-old girl who had been used in the production of material had asked U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken to impose a 30-year sentence on Terrance Anthony Sunseri.
The Register-Guard reports (http://is.gd/fcwd6X ) Aiken opted for the 15-year sentence on Friday after defense experts testified the 25-year-old man suffered from undiagnosed Asperger’s syndrome.
Aiken said the defense evidence convinced her that Sunseri could not be held to the same standards as a normal adult.
