SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) — An Arizona Diamondbacks vice president says the team is taking a serious look at free-agent Vladimir Guerrero.

Junior Noboa says the 37-year-old appears to be in shape to play in the outfield though not necessarily every day. Noboa tells The Associated Press that if the team signs Guerrero, he would need to play at least 10 games in the minor leagues to get in shape.

Guerrero worked out Monday at the Diamondbacks’ complex in the Dominican Republic. In recent weeks, he has also trained for Cleveland, Kansas City and Tampa Bay.

He was a designated hitter last season for Baltimore and had a .290 average with 13 homers and 63 RBIs in 145 games.
