Concert at Pearson will help USO aid military
Friday, August 3, 2012
Blues recording artist D.K. Stewart and his sextet will perform Sunday at Pearson Air Museum to help raise money for the USO.
The concert will be from 4 to 7 p.m. in the museum, 1115 E. Fifth St.
Admission is $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors 55 and older and children 16 and younger. Active military personnel and their immediate family members will be admitted free.
Stewart recently released the CD "Live for the Troops," which was recorded during a concert last year at Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma.
Proceeds from CD sales also benefit the regional USO and the nonprofit foundation at the Madigan Army Medical Center near Tacoma.
Stewart is a multiple winner of "Muddy Awards" presented by the Cascade Blues Association.
Peter Dammann, a guitarist in Stewart's sextet, is artistic director of Portland's Waterfront Blues Festival.
