GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The agent for Tim Masthay says the Green Bay Packers punter has agreed to a contract extension with the team.
Agent Jonathan Rabinowitz says the deal is for four years. Multiple media outlets reported the move Friday morning. The team has not confirmed the deal.
Masthay originally signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky in 2009, but was waived in August and was signed by the Packers in January 2010. He won a training camp battle to claim the starting job.
After steadily improving during the 2010 season, he set franchise records for gross (45.6 yards) and net (38.6) punting averages last season.
