LONDON (AP) — Gabby Douglas is back for her grand finale.
The 16-year-old gymnast nicknamed the Flying Squirrel has won two Olympic gold medals in London and has one last chance at another when she competes in the individual balance beam final Tuesday.
And she wants nothing more than to finish strong after placing last in the eight-women uneven bars final Monday with a score of 14.9.
Admittedly fatigued at this stage of the Summer Games, Douglas planned to rest before her last day of competition at 02 Arena.
Also Tuesday, the American women play semifinal matches in beach volleyball at Horse Guards Parade. Two-time defending gold medalists Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor and No. 2 American pair April Ross and Jennifer Kessy have a chance to set up an all-U.S. championship match.
