OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Athletics have activated infielder Cliff Pennington from the 15-day disabled list.
To make room on the roster, the A’s optioned right-hander Pedro Figueroa to Triple-A Sacramento before Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels. Figueroa threw two scoreless innings in Monday night’s 4-0 loss to the Angels.
Pennington had been sidelined with left elbow tendinitis. He was 5 for 11 during a three-game rehab assignment with the Sacramento last weekend.
