The Clark County Sheriff’s office says a high-risk sex offender who targets children recently moved to the 3900 block of Northwest Grant Street in west Vancouver.

Michael James Burgess, 25, was recently released from Stafford Creek Corrections Center and told police he will live at the Grant Street address. He is not wanted by police. In 2003, he pleaded guilty to third-degree rape of a developmentally delayed girl, 15. In 2006 he pleaded guilty to voyeurism for sexually assaulting a girl, 10. In 2011, he pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree rape for sexually assaulting a girl, 17.

He is listed as a Level 3 offender, the level most likely to commit new sex crimes. He will be tracked by the Washington State Department of Corrections, Vancouver police and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
