Cater Park neighbor honored with Sparkle award

Carter Park -- More than 85 Carter Park neighbors gathered for a National Night Out picnic Aug. 7 at Carter Park at 33rd and Columbia streets. Neighbor Susan Sanders was awarded the Vancouver Sparkles award. The award stated: "As a Master Gardener, neighborhood coordinator with Friends of Trees and an officer on the Carter Park Neighborhood Association, Susan is frequently spotted walking our neighborhood. Whether delivering newsletters or taking an inventory of the health of our tree canopy, Susan looks for opportunities to connect neighbors and to improve our community."
