Hazel Dell — Almost 300 people — including two dignitaries representing South Korea — attended a medal ceremony honoring Clark County veterans who served in the Korean War. Medals were presented to 120 veterans during the Aug. 4 ceremony in Gaiser Hall at Clark College. Young Wan Song, the South Korean consul general based in Seattle, participated in the ceremony, as did Woong Kyu Cho, chairman of the Korea-America Society based in Seoul. The Richard L. Quatier Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association of Southwest Washington meets at 10 a.m. the third Wednesday each month in the Boxcar Room at the 40 et 8 Chateau, 7607 N.E. 26th Ave. To learn more about the veterans group, contact Jerry Keesee, 360-573-1035 or by email at saverflag@yahoo.com.
