BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Midfielder Alex Song has signed a five-year contract with Barcelona, leaving Arsenal after seven seasons with the Premier League club.
Song posed for the traditional photo in front of the club’s logo Monday before passing a medical examination and meeting with team President Sandro Rosell.
The Spanish club paid Arsenal 19 million euros ($23.4 million) for Song. Arsenal sold forward Robin van Persie to Manchester United last weekend for 24 million pounds ($38 million).
Song is Barcelona’s second signing this summer after defender Jordi Alba, who joined from Valencia.
