Boys basketball: Woodland 66, Ilwaco 47

Tanner Huddleston scored 20 of his 23 points in the first half to spark the visiting Beavers to the 1A Trico League triumph. Huddleston scored 11 of those points in the second quarter, when Woodland outscored Ilwaco 20-7 to build a 18-point halftime lead.

Logan Piper had 18 points and six rebounds for Woodland (3-2, 2-1). Huddleston made six 3-pointers and also had four assists.

Woodland coach Aaron Shepherd said the defensive play of Henry Warndahl and Troy Flanagan helped key the Beavers second-quarter surge.
