Portland State holds off George Fox 85-74

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Michael Harthun scored 16 points, Renado Parker had 15 and Portland State shot 49.2 percent from the field to hold off George Fox 85-74 on Saturday night.

Lateef McMullan had 14 points, eight assists and four rebounds for Portland State (2-5) while Gary Winston hit four 3-pointers and totaled 14 points.

George Fox, an NAIA program, was 28 of 56 from the field for an even 50 percent clip, and hit 13 3-pointers.

Seth Brent hit a 3-pointer to give George Fox (5-4) its biggest lead of the night at 18-11 but the Vikings took over from there, outscoring the Bruins 37-22 to lead 48-40 at halftime and never looked back.

Brent had 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Sean Atkins scored 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting for George Fox, knocking down four 3-pointers and grabbing four rebounds.
