Florida Gulf Coast rolls past Southeastern 86-60

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Chase Fieler (14 points) was one of 11 different Florida Gulf Coast players to score as the Eagles routed Southeastern 86-60 Tuesday night.

Bernard Thompson and Christophe Varidel had 11, Sherwood Brown added 10 for Florida Gulf Coast, which had 12 players log double digit minutes.

Florida Gulf Coast (8-4) opened the game on a 12-4 run and pushed its lead to 14, 30-16, behind consecutive 3-pointers from Thompson, Brown, and Varidel. The Eagles held Southeastern to one field goal over the final 5:24 of the first half and took a 43-25 advantage into the break.

Southeastern never got any closer than 20 in the second half and Florida Gulf Coast led by 30 or more points twice in the frame.

The Eagles scored 46 points in the paint and 32 points off 18 Southeastern turnovers

Brandon Moore led Southeastern (8-6) with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
