Texas-Pan American beats Alabama State 76-70 in OT

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Aaron Urbanus and Brandon Provost combined for 47 points and 10 3-pointers Thursday night as Texas-Pan American beat Alabama State 76-70 in overtime of the closing game of the Tulane Classic.

Provost, who made 11 of 14 free throws, finished with 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Urbanus hit six 3-pointers en route to 22 points for the Broncs (5-8), who made 11 of 19 shots from beyond the arc.

After 12 lead changes and five ties, Texas-Pan American held a 62-59 advantage with 10 seconds left to play before Bobby Brown hit a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime.

Texas-Pan American, which shot 46.3 percent (25 of 54), made all five shot attempts in overtime and hit three free throws to pull away.

Joshua Freelove led Alabama State (1-10) with 15 points and Brown had 11 but the Hornets made just 15 of 23 free throws.
