Boys basketball: Hudson’s Bay 42, Fort Vancouver 34

The Eagles pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a spot in the championship game at the North Marion Tournament in Aurora, Ore.

Jomarri Gable and TJ Brumfield each scored 11 points as Hudson’s Bay prevailed in the defensive battle between Greater St. Helens League rivals. The Eagles (3-8) outscored the Trappers 28-19 after halftime, and for the game had an 11-5 edge on points from the foul line.

Loris Hervey led Fort Vancouver (4-5) with 12 points.

Hudson’s Bay will play Skyview in an all-Vancouver championship game at 6:15 on Saturday. Fort Vancouver will take on Yamhill-Carlton (Ore.) at 4:30 p.m. for third place.
