Colgate routs cold-shooting Binghamton 74-47

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) — Murphy Burnatowski scored 23 points as Colgate snapped a six-game losing streak with a 74-47 nonconference victory over Binghamton on Friday night.

Brandon James added 12 points for the Raiders (4-9), who shot 50.9 percent overall (27 of 53). Their 39.3 percent shooting from 3-point range (11 of 28) was higher than the 27.9 percent (17 of 61) that the Bearcats (2-10) shot overall.

Colgate, which led 40-25 at halftime, had an 11-0 run and three separate 10-0 runs.

The Raiders started the second half with one of their 10-0 runs and led by as many as 30 points, 72-42, with 3:32 remaining.

Binghamton, which hadn’t played since Dec. 11, lost its sixth in a row.

Jimmy Gray’s 12 points paced the scoring for the Bearcats, while Roland Brown and Jordan Reed scored 10 points each. Reed also had 11 rebounds, giving the freshman his sixth double-double this season.
