Local singer Britnee Kellogg will appear on the Portland auditions for “American Idol” tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox.

She’s no stranger to performing on the big stage. Kellogg performs with the Vancouver band Five Guys Named Moe in gigs around the metro area. She began singing at the age of 5 and spent 10 years participating in pageants, including winning first runner-up in talent at the Miss Teen America pageant at age 15. The 27 year old single mother of two won the “Sing Like Taylor Swift” contest back in 2010, and flew to Nashville to meet the musician.

“It’s something I’m absolutely passionate about. Every time I sing, I go to a different place, and I don’t have to think about anything else,” Kellogg said during the 2010 interview.

Country radio station 99.5 The Wolf, who sponsored the “Sing Like Taylor Swift” contest, will be hosting a viewing party tonight from 8 to 9 p.m. at Big Al’s, 16615 S.E. 18th St., Vancouver.
