A 15-year-old Ridgefield boy suffered extensive injuries after he stepped out into traffic on state Highway 502, aka Northeast 219th Street, near 29th Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

Ismael D. Jaramillo was listed in satisfactory condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center on Friday morning, a nursing supervisor said.

His injuries included multiple facial fractures, head trauma and a broken left leg in the 3:45 p.m. accident four miles west of Battle Ground, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

Ismael had been walking west on the right-hand shoulder when he stepped into traffic and was hit by a westbound 2002 Nissan Quest driven by Samantha A. Guse, 36, of Vancouver, the bulletin said.

No enforcement action was taken.
