Salem OR police wound robbery suspect

SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Salem police say an officer shot and wounded a robbery suspect Friday night when gunshots were exchanged during a foot chase.

Lt. Jim Anglemier said the man was taken to Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The officer was not hurt.

Police responded initially to a call of a suspicious person at a Texaco gas station.
