Clark County — The Parks Foundation of Clark County is accepting nominations for the second annual Florence B. Wager awards.

The awards recognize a leader, a volunteer and a professional who have contributed significantly to local parks, trails and recreation programs.

The awards will be presented at the Parks Foundation annual meeting and luncheon, June 14, at the Hilton Vancouver Washington. The keynote speaker will be Mike Houk, executive director of the Urban Greenspaces Institute.

Award nominations must be submitted by April 2 to the Parks Foundation office, P.O. Box 2397, Vancouver, WA 98668. Nominations are being accepted in the following categories: The Leading Eagle, recognizing a community leader (business, government, nonprofit or grassroots) who has led parks and recreation initiatives; the V-Formation Flyer, recognizing a spirited volunteer; and the Tributary, recognizing a parks and recreation department professional who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Nomination packets are available at http://parksfoundation.us, or by contacting the Parks Foundation at 360-487-8370. Tickets for the annual luncheon are available online too.

The Parks Foundation accepts and administers donations, gifts and bequests for local parks and recreation programs in Clark County.

The award namesake, Florence B. Wager, is a longstanding citizen advocate and volunteer for local parks and recreation.
