SEATTLE (AP) — The King County Sheriff’s Office says it has reports of at least two people dead in an avalanche at Stevens Pass, and in a separate incident there’s a rescue effort underway after a snowboarder went over a cliff at the Alpental ski area.
Sgt. Cindi West wrote on the department’s Twitter feed Sunday that an undisclosed number of people were missing in the avalanche. The snowboarder’s condition wasn’t immediately known.
