RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina State’s passionate fan base is rallying around two former stars who were ejected from the stands at a weekend game, while the school’s athletic director sounds ready to put the episode in the past.

Speaking before Tuesday night’s rivalry game against No. 7 North Carolina, N.C. State Athletic Director Debbie Yow said “we’re moving forward.”

Three days earlier, former Wolfpack stars Tom Gugliotta and Chris Corchiani were removed from their seats behind the scorers’ table by official Karl Hess late in a loss to Florida State. The Atlantic Coast Conference has reprimanded Hess for failing to follow procedure during the ejections.

Gugliotta and Corchiani returned to the arena for a ceremony honoring N.C. State’s 1988-89 team that won the school’s last ACC regular-season championship.
