Police activity on Tuesday morning temporarily closed eastbound Fourth Plain Boulevard between Lincoln and Simpson avenues, just east of Fruit Valley Road.
The series of events started just before 8 a.m. when a suicidal man was standing on the railroad overpass, said Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp. Several units with Vancouver police, an AMR ambulance and a Vancouver Fire Department engine stood by to assist.
Police were able to work peacefully to get the man off the bridge, Kapp said.
Roads reopened before 9:30 a.m.
