Texas-Arlington beats McNeese State 93-89

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — LaMarcus Reed scored 28 points and Bo Ingram added 22 to lead Texas-Arlington in a 93-89 win over McNeese State Wednesday night, clinching the Southland Conference regular-season title.

The Mavericks (21-6, 13-0) shot 53.8 percent from the field (28 of 52), making 10 of 18 3-pointers. Reed led the way, going 6 for 9 from long range.

Texas-Arlington made 90 percent (27 of 30) from the foul line, with Jordan Reves connecting on all 12 of his free throws.

The Mavericks never trailed and finished the first half with seven straight points to lead by 29, 53-24, at halftime.

Reed had 22 of his points in the first 20 minutes.

The Cowboys (15-11, 10-3) improved from 32-percent shooting (8 of 25) in the first half to 55.8 percent (24 of 42) in the second, but couldn’t overcome the halftime deficit.

Jeremie Mitchell led McNeese State with 20 points.
