SEATTLE (AP) — A National Weather Service meteorologist says strong winds and intense snow showers have added up for almost “white out” conditions near Spokane.

Meteorologist Matt Fugazzi says the Spokane area and the Idaho panhandle saw “very localized but very intense snow showers move through” on Saturday.

He says three to eight inches of snow fell from Spokane to Coeur d’Alene. He says snow will taper off in Spokane buy is expected to continue over the panhandle.

Meanwhile, western Washington saw snow dustings in some lowland areas and the Cascades were weathering snow showers.
