A fire erupted in the garage of a home in the Northeast Hazel Dell neighborhood just before 2 p.m. Monday, but no one was reported injured.
The fire was at 9700 N.E. 25th Ave., an arterial street that connects Northeast 78th and 99th streets east of Highway 99. A portion of 25th between 96th and 99th streets was temporarily blocked by deputies with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office while firefighters worked.
Clark County Fire District 6 and the Vancouver Fire Department were both called to the scene.
According to radio traffic monitored at The Columbian, the signal on 99th Street, which has a sensor triggered by strobe lights, was affected by the fire apparatus parked on 25th, causing a traffic jam.
