Medford man accused of thermometer stabbing



MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Police say a Medford man stabbed his roommate with a meat thermometer during a fight.

Sgt. Brent Mak says the victim was treated Wednesday at a hospital for a minor wound to his ribcage.

The suspect, 48-year-old Christopher Thomas Schroeder, was cited for assault and menacing and released without bail.

The Mail Tribune reports ( ) Schroeder was arrested at gunpoint because of an initial report that he was armed with a handgun, which was not the case.
