Volunteers tackle ivy in South Cliff Park

Southcliff — Volunteers from Vancouver Christian High School and residents of Southcliff and other neighborhoods helped remove English ivy, an invasive plant, from Blanford Canyon in South Cliff Park.

“Ivy has been an ongoing problem in the canyon, and neighbors have worked diligently to help control it,” said Michelle Borum, volunteer coordinator for the city of Vancouver. The volunteers worked for two hours Dec. 9 clipping, pulling and piling ivy on a cold morning.
