LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have re-signed reliever Mike MacDougal to a $1 million, one-year contract with a club option for 2013.

The 34-year-old right-hander had a 2.05 ERA with a 3-1 record and one save in his first year with the Dodgers last season. He was second on the team with 57.0 innings pitched while making a career-high 69 appearances.

He limited opposing hitters to a .157 batting average and allowed 17 of his team-high 51 inherited runners to score. MacDougal had two streaks of 11 consecutive scoreless innings last season.

He is 18-23 with 71 saves and a 3.94 ERA in 11 major-league seasons with Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox, Washington, St. Louis and the Dodgers. MacDougal was an All-Star in 2003 with the Royals, when he had 27 saves as a rookie.

MacDougal gets a salary of $650,000 for 2012. The 2013 option is for $2.35 million, or a $350,000 buyout.
