Montana State holds on to beat Idaho State 73-69

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Shawn Reid scored 15 of his 23 points in the first half, and Montana State held off an Idaho State comeback for a 73-69 win on Thursday night.

Reid was 6 of 7 from the field before halftime, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, for the Bobcats (7-7, 2-1 Big Sky), who built a 30-13 lead in the first 14 minutes. Christian Moon added 18 points for the game, and Rod Singleton scored 14. MSU shot 53 percent (24 for 45) from the field.

Kenny McGowen scored 18 points and Melvin Morgan had 17 for the Bengals (3-11, 1-2), who cut MSU’s lead to 37-29 at halftime and pulled within four points early in the second half.

Later, the Bobcats went on a 10-0 run to go back up by 15. The Bengals clawed back to within three with 18 seconds left, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
