AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) — Taylor Broekhuis and Taylor Stewart each scored 16 points, and Air Force survived a slow start in a 68-54 victory over Chicago State on Friday night.

The Falcons (9-4) trailed by five early against the Cougars (0-15) but hit 65 percent in the second half to pull away.

Air Force improved to 8-1 at Clune Arena this season and ran its winning streak to three games.

Lee Fisher had 16 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Cougars, who shot just 30.4 percent.

The first half was far from a shooting showcase, with Air Force hitting 34.6 percent and Chicago State connecting on 22.2 percent. The teams combined for more turnovers (21) than baskets (15) in the first half.

The Falcons used a 13-3 run to take the lead for good and led 22-18 at the break.
