Duquesne defeats St. Bonaventure 66-52

PITTSBURGH (AP) — T.J. McConnell scored 13 points, dished eight assists and tallied four steals to help Duquesne defeat St. Bonaventure 66-52 on Saturday.

Duquesne (10-6, 1-1 Atlantic 10) shot 51.9 percent from the field in the second half (14 of 27) and scored 20 points off of 18 Bonnies’ turnovers in the game.

The Dukes led 39-37 before Sean Johnson led them on an 11-0 run. Johnson scored seven points, including a three-point play to put Duquesne up 50-37 with 10:02 to play. Johnson finished with 17 points as the Dukes won their fifth straight over St. Bonaventure at home.

The Bonnies (8-6, 1-1) shot 28.1 percent in the second half (9 of 32), as they were outscored 37-29.

Both teams had 37 rebounds, but the Dukes outscored St. Bonaventure 17-10 on second chances.

Andrew Nicholson was the only double-figure scorer, with 11, for St. Bonaventure, which snapped a three-game win streak.
