ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have had new talks in a bid to re-sign receiver Stevie Johnson. And general manager Buddy Nix regards adding a pass-rusher as being the team’s top priority this offseason.

Those were among the several topics Nix touched upon during a wide-ranging news conference Monday.

Nix says the team wants Johnson back and adds there’s been “dialogue” between the two sides in the past week. Johnson has been the team’s leading receiver in each of the two past two years and is eligible to become a free agent in March.

Nix considers the Bills being “three of four” players away from being competitive after a 6-10 finish. He’s particularly intent on improving the pass rush after Buffalo finished tied for 30th in the NFL with 29 sacks.
