JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State has hired former Kansas assistant J.B. Grimes as its new offensive line coach.

The school made the announcement Monday. Grimes is a former assistant at Arkansas who coached the offensive line at Kansas the past two seasons. His 29-year coaching tenure also includes stops at Mississippi State, East Carolina, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Louisiana-Monroe and Delta State.

Coach Gus Malzahn says Grimes is a top offensive line coach and will help the Red Wolves in the coming season.

Arkansas State finished the season at 10-3 with a loss Sunday night to Northern Illinois in the GoDaddy.com Bowl.
