Salmon Creek: Kellen Larsen gets ready Dec. 23 to deliver balloons to patients spending Christmas in Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.

Salmon Creek — The Joy Team delivered more than 90 balloons Dec. 23 for patients spending Christmas at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.

A card with good wishes signed by members and volunteers of The Joy Team was attached to each balloon.

“Spending Christmas in the hospital probably isn’t anyone’s first choice,” said Michele McKeag Larsen, founder and chief joy officer at The Joy Team. “We’re hoping to make it a little brighter by letting the patients at Legacy Salmon Creek know we’re thinking about them. And we wish them lots of joy and love.”

The balloons were delivered to Arlene Kraft, manager of volunteer services and gift shops at the hospital. Her team distributed them; the patients received them on Christmas Eve. The project was made possible by a donation from Crave Portland, http://thecravecompany.com/portland.
