COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center Jeff Carter on injured reserve because of a separated shoulder sustained on Sunday.

Carter, a major offseason acquisition by the Blue Jackets, is listed as week to week.

The 27-year-old has 10 goals and seven assists in 30 games. He leads the club in power-play goals with five and is second in goals and fifth in points despite missing 10 games with a broken bone in his foot.

In 491 career NHL games, he has 191 goals and 169 assists with 300 penalty minutes for Columbus and Philadelphia.

The Blue Jackets traded Jake Voracek, a first-round pick (Sean Couturier) and a 2011 third-round pick (Nick Cousins) to the Flyers for Carter.
