Bucknell defeats Lafayette 79-65 for 5th straight

EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Mike Muscala scored a season-high 27 points and Bucknell defeated Lafayette 79-65 on Saturday for its fifth straight win.

The Bison shot 57.7 percent (30 of 52) from the field. Muscala led the way, making 9 of 13 shots. The Bison also made all 15 of their free throw attempts.

Cameron Ayers added 15 points for the Bison (13-6, 3-0 Patriot League), who have won four straight against Lafayette and 13 conference games in a row.

Bucknell began the second half on a 9-2 run to lead 43-32 with 16:48 to play. The Bison grabbed their biggest lead at 66-52 with 6:40 left and kept the advantage in double-digits the rest of the way.

Seth Hinrichs scored 17 points, Ryan Willen added 14 and Jim Mowser had 10 for the Leopards (7-11, 2-1). Willen became the 13th Lafayette player to have 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career.
