Bradley beats N. Iowa 78-67, snaps 9-game skid

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Dyricus Simms-Edwards had 26 points and Taylor Brown scored 23 as Bradley snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 78-67 victory over Northern Iowa on Sunday.

Walt Lemon Jr. added 16 points for the Braves (6-13, 1-6 Missouri Valley), who overcame a 16-point second-half deficit to win for the first time since Dec. 15.

Johnny Moran and Chip Rank scored 15 points apiece for Northern Iowa (13-6, 3-4), while Jake Koch and Anthony James each had 11.

Bradley, trailing 44-28 early in the second half, went on a 20-3 run that was capped by Brown’s dunk and put the Braves ahead 48-47 with 10:57 remaining. The game remained close until Simms-Edwards hit a 3-pointer with 2:17 left to break a 65-65 tie, and the Braves hit 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
