Letter: Change is what we’re asking for

For more than 100 years, corporations and money have driven our economic culture. Yet life on this planet cannot thrive on money alone. Occupy Wall Street and Arab Spring have something in common. Money leads to corruption. Greed led to the economic collapse of 2008. Some U.S. foreign aid went to corrupt Arab dictators. The Arab Spring was the protest against greedy rulers. Our planet cannot sustain the present course of mankind drive by greed and money. We must wonder what Jesus or Muhammad would do to save their Father’s planet. Our human culture must decide to make changes through nonviolent methods. Or shall we wait for the next century until Mother Nature makes changes to rid the Earth of human greed.

It has been 49 years since 200,000 people took to the streets with Martin Luther King Jr. to ask for civil rights changes. Nonviolent Occupy Wall Street protests are attracting many more people asking for financial changes.
