LAS VEGAS (AP) — Organizers of the Las Vegas Winter Kick say the exhibition soccer game involving the New York Cosmos next month has been canceled because of the shake-up of the team’s management.

Justice Entertainment Group announced the Feb. 25 match in August but said Monday the game against Mexico’s Club America won’t take place after the Cosmos fired executive officer Joe Fraga and vice chairman Terry Byrne left the team.

The Cosmos, who own the name of the old North American Soccer League team of Pele and Franz Beckenbauer, have been seeking a Major League Soccer expansion team.

Justice Entertainment Group said it hopes to stage an exhibition game in Las Vegas this summer involving a European club on a preseason trip.
