Ingram, North Carolina Central beat Howard 69-53

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jeremy Ingram scored a career-high 27 points to lead North Carolina Central to a 69-53 victory over Howard in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Monday night.

Ingram, a sophomore guard, scored 19 of his points in the first half, when the Eagles (9-8, 3-1) shot 59.1 percent (13 of 22) and took a 37-24 lead at the break.

They scored 18 points in the paint in the first half to just two for the Bison (4-16, 1-6), who shot just 28.6 percent (6 of 21) in the half and lost their seventh in a row.

Howard never cut the lead below eight points in the second half.

Ingram made 10 of his 14 shots for the Eagles. Ray Willis added 13 points and 11 rebounds for North Carolina Central, and Dominique Sutton scored 11 points.

Glen Andrews led Howard with 17 points and Simuel Frazier had 10.
