GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian medical officials in the Gaza Strip say one man has been killed and three people wounded in an Israeli attack in the north of the territory.

Health Ministry spokesman Adham Abu Salmia says the Israeli strike occurred near the border town of Beit Hanoun. It was not clear whether the attack was an air strike, or was a shelling by gunboats, tanks or artillery.

Salmia says one of the wounded is in critical condition. He did not specify whether the victims were civilians or militants.

The Israeli military often goes after suspected militants along the border.

Military officials confirmed a strike took place on Wednesday, but gave no further details.
